Mustiala SPEC 9.6.2007

We spent a very sunny and hot day in Mustiala yesterday. There was held our specialty show with 140 Whippets!!!
I had four boys with, and showed Luxi in puppy-, Hula in open- and Viri in championclass. Hupi was just enjoying himself and took part to donating blood for DNA-research, something which is really "hot" now in Finland, for one professor has recently started a DNA-examination for dogs trying to solve and find hereditary marks for different illnesses. Also Luxi, Hula and Viri gave their blood, but after ring!
Here comes the critiques (judge Cathie Brown, GB)
Luxi;"8 month, strong male puppy. Attractive head. Generally nice outline. Excellent feet and condition. Would prefer more layback of upperarm. Good mover for age. Needs to tidy up in front movement."(out of 9 malepups Luxi was not placed)

Hula:"Plain brindle dog of quality. Showing excellent breed type. Fine coat. Attractive head. Smooth bodied with excellent pasterns, hocks, feet. Moved well. Would prefer a more elegant neck and more angulations in his front and a little less in his rear. However nice dog."EXC/- (16 males entered, 7 got EXC)

Viri:"3,5 year old. Fawn with white colour and trim. Good outline. Lovely neck and shoulder and bend of pastern. Nice feet. Strong and muscular. Well lay down hocks and good second thigh. He is a very strong dog. He is rather large and for me on the edge of what is acceptable. Would prefer him an inch shorter (or smaller?) and finer. However he is a good stud whippet."EXC/- (13 males in class)
Well done, my boys! :)
